DMS and KM

Hi All

Can someone explain the difference between DMS and KM? We are in the process of SAP implementation, and we have procured Content server with the intention of making available company circulars, policies etc; available on portal to employees.

Does this come under KM or DMS? If I want to have the features like attaching technical specification documents to Material Master, Purchase Documents, etc; is that what DMS is?

Can I use same content server to have both KM and DMS functionality or is it necessary to have separate servers for the same?

All guidance on this will be much appreciated. Also any document on setting up SAP DMS will be hugely useful.

DMS is R3 Gui, KM is portal. DMS is for structure techical documents, KM is for unstructured data.

Yes the content server can be used for both.

Nope, sorry, I don't. Do a search here, there are a couple of people who have posted config guides before.
