You can use external jar's and use the API exposed by them in your WD project.
Barcode4j is available on http://barcode4j.sourceforge.net/download.html
and refer this blog /people/valery.silaev/blog/2005/09/14/a-bit-of-impractical-scripting-for-web-dynpro for using them as external library in your project.
