Dear Experts-

I have a question regarding the SAP cloud platform integration services. We have a customer who is running business transaction in AS400 and now they want to use S/4 cloud and integrated using cloud services. I am not sure if we have any adapters to connect database in cloud integration services. Unlike traditional on-premise PI or PO system where we have JDBC adapters to extract and write the data to a database. The second question is can we use IDOC adapter in cloud services to send the data to the S/4 cloud or do we have to use API. Please, it would be appreciated if you can provide some insight on the above requirement.

Hi Hari,

JDBC adapter is not available in SAP Cloud Platform Integration. If you are trying to connect to an on-premise database, only option is to expose an odata/web service on top of that database and use SAP Cloud Connector to connect CPI to that.

Regarding your second question, S4Hana Cloud supports IDocs, but only in the standard communication scenarios provided out of the box. If you are trying to build a custom communication scenario, only option is to use Custom CDS views and Odata services.

Hope this helps.

Divija.
