Addon License Key

Former Member

Hi All,

Please help me out the process to renew the License for Addon.

The system gives the message as "Module Compatibility expired", when i login to the company.

when i view from Administration --> License --> License Administration, in the Components window for the option "Compatibility License key for Addons", the expiry date displays 15th January '08.

now i am unable to run the Addon's which have been downloaded from the Channel Partners site.

I have tried renewing the License key from Service.sap.com --> License key request, here it specifies for new License Key or additional license key, and no option is given for renewing the Addon license.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Shanker

Hi Shanker

You probably know by now that all add-on licences needed to be re-installed. Here is some info for you:

https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000656214&_SCENARIO=011000358700000001...;

I am looking into what SAP means by Add-Ons to be updated with the SAP licensing mechanism.

========================================================================================

Important: "License Expiration" System Message Scheduled for December 17, 2007

On December 17, 2007, all users of SAP Business One 2004, SAP Business One 2005 and SAP Business One 2007 will receive an automatic system message indicating that their SAP compatibility license (for add-ons) expires in 30 days, on January 15, 2008. This message does not affect the SAP Business One functionality in any way. Users can click "ok" and continue working.

However, please be aware that there is still an action to take:

Users of partner-developed add-ons that have not been updated with the SAP licensing mechanism should update their system with a new license file some time before January 15, 2008. If they do not do so, their add-on will no longer function after that date.

Users who are not utilizing add-ons will receive this message plus a series of reminders. Users can stop this message from re-occurring by downloading the new license file, just as the add-on users are doing.

Partner Call to Action

We kindly ask all SAP Business One ISVs and resellers to contact their customers as soon as possible, before December 17, 2007, to offer them assistance in downloading and installing a new license file. By doing so the add-on will continue to function without interruption. Please start doing this as of September 20, 2007 as the new license files will not be ready before this date.

To assist you with this pro-active outreach, we have:

How do I update my customers’ license file? Download/see the How-To-Guide now.

Download the license file. Please make sure you have read the How-To before, and that you have the customers' version and patch number ready. Download here.

Created a user communication you can send to users, letting them know that you are available to help them. Download it now.

Your Local Product Expert for SAP Business One is available if you need further assistance or have any questions.

The System Message

Below is the message that will begin appearing on December 17, 2007 for all users using SAP Business One. It only affects users running partner-developed add-ons. However, even users without add-ons should plan to install the new file so that they will have proper permission to use add-ons later if they so wish. The system will remind all users several times about this expiration until they download a new license file. All users should download the new file before January 15, 2008.

How Various Systems are Affected On January 15, 2008

In general, users of partner-developed add-ons that have not been upgraded with the SAP licensing mechanism will no longer function after January 15, 2008, unless they have been updated with a new license file. The below chart outlines which add-ons are affected.

Please note that updating of partner-developed add-ons to use the SAP license mechanism is no longer mandatory as of January 15, 2008. This means that the compatibility license in the new license file will have an indefinite expiration date. However, the license file installed at customers should be updated now. Moving forward, SAP will review the future license mechanism strategy to ensure it delivers appropriate value to the partner eco-system.

Customers using:

SAP Business One 6.5 or older

Shanker,

You have to request a new license key by providing your server's hardware key. This is basically a swap of license. When you install your new license keys the AddOn errors will go away
