meaning of ' receipt days supply' in mrp

Hii

Receipt days supply means "RANGE OF COVERAGE PROFILE MAINTAING IN WORK DAYS".

For example you want to keep buffer stock (safety stock) at the end of the production day equal to your 2 days supply. So 2 days are your receipt days supply.

what is meaning of days supply in SOP by create plan with mc87 system calculate days supply automaticly, is it this that no of days required to maintain that stock level, if ok then fine now how system is calculating it and far where system is getting data to calculate in customizign.

Plz explain in details
