Refresh in BEx Analyzer does not refresh structures and scales

Hi @all,

I have several queries embedded via BEx Analzer into one Excel Worksheet.

Example:

1.

I add one field to the collumn structure of one query in the Query Designer.

2.1

I refresh all the queries

2.2

I change the values of input variable

3.

the additional collumn is not being shown

Work-Around: First I need to delete the data provider, re-create it and assign the same query to the recreated data provider.

This work-around is way to complicated. If I change the scale of the lines it is also not shown in the Analyzer after refreshing.

Does anybody know a better way for refreshing the whole query (including structior and formats)? Or is there an SAP Note on this problem that I didn't find?

Help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

    I think you need to remove the query you have modified and then re-insert it into the workbook to see the changes you made. You can see these functions in the Tools dropdown. Just make sure that you are removing only the query you have modified and not all queries. Another thing, select the cell you want to put the query title before re-inserting so the format will be the ok. Save and refresh the workbook.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi,

    Basically you wanted to update the workbook automatically whenever there is any change in properties of the query (structure or scaling factor)

    There is setting in BI 7.0 bex analyzer -> goto workbook settings->dataprovider->Properties->Restore initial query view on refresh

    Check this setting and now whenever there is any chnages in the query,it will be reflected once you open the query.

    check "Refresh Workbook on Open" option in Workbook ettings in general tab.

    Please use the latest frontend patch 1600 to resolve this issue.

    Please goto

    -> service.sap.com/patches

    ->entry by application group

    ->SAP Frontend Components

    ->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS

    ->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 6.40

    ->SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 6.40

    ->Win32

    ->Apply 1600 patch

    These settings "workbook settings->dataprovider->Properties->Restore initial query view on refresh" are available in FEP 1600.

    Best Regards
