posting period problem

Hi All,

I have a posting period problem.

Instead of opening 11th month I opened 12th month.

I have to rectify this issue. I am in production system. Please help me out. Its very very urgent.

Rewards will be there for helpful answer.

As long as new transactions are not posted. get back to the config and bring it back through OB52.

What is the solution in this case if transactions have been posted in wrong posting period?

In this scenario - I would recommend they be reversed and then close the period. After opening the right period, re enter them.

Transactions shall be posted in the appropriate period. It will be more appropriate to reverse a posting in the incorrect period (both the original and the reversal to happen in the same period) and repost in the correct period.

The above is assuming that, it is only a FI transaction. If it involves other modules like MM or SD, more care to be taken.

hi sridher,

is it correcst to reversal the posting and then closed the incorrect p p and then open correct posting period and then do the posting. is this correct procedure, i ve a doubt then only i ll ask u.
