Lock Using DataSlice

Hi All,

I'm using data slice to populate one variable of Fiscper to lock the data of a cube. I'm also using the same variable of Fiscper as filter in my Query1 .But once if I'll populate the value for Fiscper using Query1 ,and Then Try to open another Query2 built on same Infocube, with different filter (means I'm not giving any value for Fiscper) its locking the entire cube contents irrespective of given or specified Fiscper in Query1.

For Example if I' ve specified data from Jan2007 to March2007 in variable Fiscper of Query1. I assume the value of this variable Fiscper would be passed to Data Slice variable and hence , It should actually lock the data of cube for that particular period.But its actually locking data Jan2007 to Dec2007.

Any help related with this or Data Slice Locking Mechanism with variables would be appreciated.

Is the variable a customer exit variable? How is your variable populated?

Data slices were not working with customer exit variables as at SPS11. This problem no longer exists as of SPS14.
