Disable workflow

Hi,

I have an already existing workflow in place. I would like to disable it, I mean users should get an error if that workflow is started.

I tried to

1) Set the Business object type to obsolete. That didn't work. I have set the workflow template and method also as obsolete.I am able to start the workflow using SWUI even after the Business object is set ot obsolete.

2) There are no events linked with the workflow task. So, no chance of disabling it by deletion of instance linkages.

Please suggest me someway of disabling the workflow.

Thanks & Regards,

Vishnu Priya

    Hi Priya,

Deactivate the event linkage in SWETYPV.

If there is no event is linked, then how it will trigger workflow. There will be event linkage.

      Hi ,

Thanks for all your inputs. My workflow is a custom workflow which gets started from an interface. So, I have created a new version of the workflow with a single task giving message that the previous workflow has been de-activated.

    Hi Vishnu,

you can disable the workflow by removing all possible agents, and making sure it is not a general task. That way nobody will be able to start the workflow. Your users will not get a message when they try to start the workflow, they will just not see it in SWUI any more.

If you do want to give them a message I think the only option is to change the workflow so it generates the message and then stops.

In regards to the status of a BOR and its methods, that field is purely informational there is no logic behind it.

    Hope this helps,

    Gert.

Try to deactivate the Workflow. If possible put some start condition like if the business Object is something that is right it whould not trigger.

Or delete some mandatory container element.

    Thanks
