Error request in Cube

Dear Gurus,

I have a process chain for loading the Inventory cube. While loading two days ago, the compression process for BF failed leaving a red request in the cube. The subsequent process for UM didn't start, as a result. However, the next day the chain ran again loading a green BF request UM not starting again.

My questions are:

ℹ️ Why / how did the chain run again the next day despite a red request ? Can we set the chain in such way that after a red request, it invariably fails, till we manually correct it?

(ii) Has the delta data in the red request been extracted by the subsequent green requests ? If, not , how to bring the delta into the cube ?

Thanks,

Sheeja.

    Hi Sheeja,

I don't know why the compression went wrong. You will have to investigate this.

If you want to repair the cube:

    1) check if you are loading via psa and if all PSA's still exist.

(i.e. all PSA files till the red one)

    If they exist:

    2) delete all datapackages before including the red one.

    3) go to the tab 'Reconstruct' and load again.

    4) compress again.

The delta mechanism will not automatically repair your red load.

    Hi,

The process chain will anyhow start as it would have been scheduled to run everyday.

Yes. the delta data would have picked up the failed delta records as well as by that time the earlier request status would have turned into Red which will make the current request to Repeat Delta.

    Hope this helps

    • The delta will pick up the data from the previous request only if the extractor has failed - in your case since the compression had failed - I do not think your delta would have picked up the data again - that is depending on the factor that you did not have any safety intervals etc.
