Vendor Mapping in APO

Dear all,

We are having one rollout at one of our mfg location say Locaion B: The details are :

The location B is supplying parts to location A, Location A is already in supply network and to be added is location B.

Location A and Location B exists in different companies.

Location A procures final product of location B as a raw material

While that of Location B has maintained same material as finished product.

Presently Sale through sales order againest location A but manually.

Need to know how can i map in network, should i consider Location as vendor of location A and map as a vendor ?

Can anybody give me details how should map them in network.

If you do are not going to Plan (Detailed Production Planning) for the product at Location B then you can map B as a vendor. From APO planning perspective there should not be any issue but you need to check from an execution standpoint.

Otherwise map Location B as a Manufaturing Plant. It is a very common scenario to have LocationB as a intermediate manufacturing plant which supplies to LocationA which is the final/finishing manufacturing plant.

From APO planning perspective the Product X at Location A as input will be procured from Location B through normal purchasing process (Intercompany Stock Transfer Order) and at Location B will undergo detailed Production Planning for manufacturing.

Yes it is possible to map as mfg. plant but problem is that we have mentioned same plant as vendor in SAP R/3. one location Say Location A which is in network having procured part say Generator is maintained in BOM with material no of that raw material(5000XXX) for which after SNP it will generate Pur. Req. againest Location B. Now the same generator code in location is maintained as of finished good (400XXXX).

Transcation is on Sale-Purchase Basis

I want to transfer the dependent requirement from location A to Location B for generator againest which it should generate planned orders.

Is it posiible? Will MPN ( Manufacturers part no.) help in this?
