Ingest data from S4HANA to Hadoop

Hi Experts,

Our company is using S4HANA, we are finding the solution to ingest the data from SAP extractors to Hadoop. And it will be consumed those data by using BI tool.

We want to reuse the extractors instead of re-build all logic by joining sap tables.

I tried to use SAP DS for extracting and store data into Hive but DS just support Hive version 1.2 (old version). We are using Hive version 2.1 then we cant use BODS.

The idea is I will enable Embedded BW and ingest data by using DXC to SAP HANA. Then move these data to Hadoop.

I heard that Embedded BW is the existing function in S4HANA. Then I think we can enable and reuse the Extractors only.

But actually, my concern is about the license. If we enable embedded BW and ingest our data to another database. Does it required the license?

Can you share me your idea that what is the best way to ingest the data from S4HANA to Hadoop now?
