Hi Nagesh and Suda,

Here is an example:

I PO an item with a unit price of USD100 and the following discount will be applied; 5%, 4%, 3% and 2% respectively. After deducting the 5%, the price is USD95, then the 4% will be deducted from USD95 and will eventually become USD91.20. The USD91.20 will be deducted again with 3% and unit price will become USD88.464. The USD88.464 will be further deducted with 2% and becomes USD86.69. USD86.69 is the final unit price after all the discounts.

I hope I made it clear.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Joel,

You example is very clear. In SAP, it would not be possible to have this 4 level of discount on the row level.

You could create a formatted search and make this possible.

Hi Nagesh,

Let me site an example...

A PO to the supplier needs to reduce the item price by 5% and another 4% should be deducted again to the item price after the 5% deduction, then another 3% after the 4% deduction and lastly another 2% after the 3% deduction.

Sometimes the situation changes. An item sometimes needs to be reduced by 2 discounts only and sometimes 3 discounts only.

Is this scenario possible and how to go about it?

I hope I made it clear.

Thanks,

Joel,

Per line Item you will not be able to layer the discounts one after the other. You have only one discount per line item.

There are a few ways discounts can be setup depending on how you want to track the 4 level of discounts and when they occur. If you can explain your business case then it would be easier to evaluate options.

Joel,

As such I dont think what you are saying is possible but if the discounts are based upon certain criterion like the Validity period or the Quantity may be this can be achieved.

Please elaborate more.

I think you can use discount group based on item propotries to combine the several discounts.

Joel,

I beleive you are talking baout different discounts for one item in one row. Maybe this van help...

1. Go to Hierachies and expansions in the Pricelists of the Inventory module. go to validity period and you can give different discounts for different valiodity periods

2. You can also give Quantity based discounts ...diferent Quantities different discoiunts by double clicking the Validity period row in the previous window

3. Also if you give both validity period and quanity based disciount the system calculateds both discoounts and computes the price in the document.

The same can be achived thru special discounts for BP;s below

hierarchies ande expansions.
