Assortment module

I am not very much clear about the concept of assortment module, assortment and their relationship (if any) with Merchandise category.

It will be very much helpful if someone can clearly explain it

Hi,

In SD, for value contract, we can use the assortment module to group different finished product that are being sold to a customer.

For example, a value contract is created for a customer who wants to apply the contract value for 4 products. You can create an assortment module, with one material as reference material and adding other three in the same assortment.

You need to assign this assortment module number, in the value contract. This when a sales order is created with reference to a value contract, gets copied in the sales order. All the materials can be expanded in the sales order and the user can exclude any of the material in the assortment if needed.
