install xMII 11.5 on a laptop

Hello all -

I have installed xMII 11.5 on a laptop running on Windows XP professional for testing. The IIS(www) and ServletexecxMII have been restarted. Yet, when I click on the SAP xMII Menu, I get a "The Page cannot be found" error.

Are there any additional settings/considerations to be followed when xMII is installed on a laptop? I did not get any error during install and it went fine.

Appreciate your ideas.

Thanks,

Srini

Consult the getting started installation portion of the help docs, with XP you probably don't have the virtual Scripts directory. This is not there by default, especially on an XP box.

Also make sure that your machine name does not have any underscores "_" in it. This drove me nuts. once.

    Srini,

Beside PC name not having _ character, also make sure the name is 12 characters or less.

This also got me on one server.

    Srinivasan,

You can check the New Atlanta Web Application for errors as well:

This should tell you why the web app itself isn't working properly and the cms.log located here <drive>:\Lighthammer\logs will tell you additional xMII relevant information. It's plain text so you can open it in any editor directly.
