Weekly Bucket question

Former Member

Good morning,

I have an MRP lot size that is a weekly period.

It is set to start at the begining of the period.

I would expect this to be a Monday but it is raising the Procurement Proposals on a Tuesday, what needs to be maintained to work on a Monday.

Thanks

Guy.

Hi Guy,

I guess....

For example your requirement for a week is 100 Kg and the lead time is 4 days...

& ur lotsizing procedure is Requorement date = period start & period = week.

System will ensure that the material should be delivered on the first day of the week ( monday).

taking consideration of the lead time system creates the planned order/purc reqn start date as the previous Tues day.

Please come back... If I haven't understood your query correctly.

Thanks & regards

Mahesh

Good morning,

Thanks for the reply,

The Factory Calendar is set to 24/7,

We are using a weekly lot size (with the Procurement being created at the beginning of the period),

We are running MRP every day NETPL.

We have changes 10 materials with the Weekly bucket settings and have found the following: -

6 of the Materials now have the Planning time fence on the Monday and a schedule line created on the same day.

4 of the Materials now have the Planning time fence on a Tuesday and the schedule line created on the same day.

We are not using any Planning calendars.

I am confused why we are getting the required results on the first 6 but not the last 4.

I have checked the material master and all of the materials have MRP type P1 (MRP fix Planned Orders with the Planning time fence) and Lot size W3 (Weekly - period start).

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If you assign Planning time fence means system will assume that current date+ No.of working days.

But you have mentioned that 6 of the Materials now have the Planning time fence on the Monday. How it is possible?

My assumption is if you have run MRP with planning time fence means system will not take period start.

Again Monday & Tuesday difference is may be you have done MRP run for 6 materials one day before & for 4 materials, the next day.

Dharma

Hi Guy,

I'm not sure whether Planning timefence has any connection with lotsizing.

Planning time fence when used with corresponding MRP type ( like MRP with firming type 1..1..etc) will ensure that the system diesn't change/create any receipt elements for any unfullfilled demand in the planning timefence.

Alternatively it creates planned orders outside the planning timefence and firms it ( depends on the MRP type) with correcponding exception messages.

The planner has to manually reschedule it ( if required).

Lot sizing is used to accumulate the requirements for creating the proposals.

Could you please explain your query with a business need/example.

Thanks & regards

Mahesh

Hi,

When assigning planning planning time fence in material master , system is not considering the period lot size.

So planned order will generate after the planning time fence only.

Beyond the planning time fence period system will consider period lot size.

You have given MRP type P1, so planned orders inside planning time automatically firmed in that existing date & new proposal move to end of planning time fence.

Mr.Hall

Please understand, weekly period of MRP lot size is just a lot sizing procedure. To create requirements on monday is something related to MRP run and your MRP run is populated by different parameters.

For starting of week by monday, you can check your factory calender. But we would be able to help you more, if you will ask in precise way.

cheers!!!!
