Hi all,

We have SAP Netweaver 7.5 PO system...which is purely Java instance running on Linux server and Oracle 12C.

This SAP instance is replicated to DR server using DataGuard and MaxPerformance replication mode.

Kernel and other SAP directories also have Sync enable at Unix level.

We recently upgraded our Primary instance with SP7 patch...All went well..And DG configuration is also in Sync. I am assuming in case of any change in primary like SAP upgrade also ...changes will be replication to secondary and no action is required.

Please let me know if there is any action required on secondary after SAP Upgrade on primary.

Also as we cannot start SAP Application on secondary..is there any way like SQL query on secondary which we can use to see patch levels on secondary to make sure all patches are also in Sync.

Thanks,

Shivam

Hi Shivam,

If the standby is pure db standby (no sap app standby), then the upgrading on primary will sync to standby.

I suppose you want to see SAP patch level instead of db, can you bring standby db open easisly?

Best regards,

... In addition to what the James has answered - when the server is down the system information might be retrieved by following the directions in this note :

1752501 - How to Retrieve the Software Components information when there is no access to NWA or the System Information page

These are the possible alternatives. If you might execute an SQL query then you might retrieve the System information (details in the note)
