From where to get License Key name

Hi All,

I have developed a Add-on and I am trying to create a setup using licensing Mechanism of SAP B1, I got stuck while generating the Add-on Identifier string, here is the problem…

I select Administrator -> License -> Add-on Identifier Generator

On this screen since I wish to distribute this add-on to multiple clients, I select Add-on Type as Solution, on selection of this option it asks for “License Key Name”.

Now my question is how do I get this key, do I have to request my Local Channel Partner through email and get the key, or is it Automated on the partner portal if yes please provide the link.

Also is it required to register my product on the portal to get this keys?

Thanks in advance

Jenn.

    Hi Jennifer,

    Since SAP extended the compatibility license to 2099 you don't need to use the Addon Indentifier as your licensing mechanism (unless you feel there is a benefit in using the Addon Identifier). If you use the compatibility license then you don't need to specify an addon identifier or register anything with SAP. If you are concerned about software piracy then you can build your own licensing mechanism in to the addon (this is what nearly all the addon ISVs are doing).

    Here's a link to a page of details on licensing:

    Kind Regards,
