Changing of Item category of high level item will change item category of sub item automatically

When I change item category of high level item, then item category of sub item changes accordingly.

How can I stop this feature?

Ideally for BOM scenario, you can have one header item category. This being the case, what is the need to change that? Does the business process warrants multiple BOM header item category?

Yes dear.. sometimes item category of high level item does not have a price but sub-item has a price.

Therefore whenever we want to change item category of high level item, then system changes item category of sub item accordingly.

    Hi Sami Bahabri ,

You have already defined a new item category which is not going to be priced.

    • Existing configuration for main item : ZOR + ERLA = ZTAQ
    • Existing configuration for sub item : ZOR + NORM + ZTAQ = ZTAN

Let's say new item category is ZTAE not relevant for pricing and now you want to determine sub item which will be relevant for pricing.

Maintain a new item category determination as follows :

    • New configuration for main item :ZOR + ERLA = ZTQ (manual item category ZTAE)
    • New configuration for sub item : ZOR + NORM + ZTAE = ZTAN.

    Hope it helps.
