SAP Byd "Financial closing is in Progress" warning

Hi All,

I am getting warning repeated warning message "Financial Posting is in progress. The GL accountant will decided in which period to post" during Journal entry posting. Please note I posting in Current period and posting periods are open for "10 - Operational Posting" for both first and last step allowed. As anyone experienced the same issue, please share your resolution to fix this.

Additional Information: I receive this warning message during creation "New Manual Invoice Request" under customer invoicing.

Hi Eva,

The reason could be posting date of the invoice could be prior to the Posting date for Migration. You can see the information in General Ledger>Companies view.
Can you check the information once.

Please note the posting dates for the company id where I am having issue and

Posting Date for Migration - Dec 31, 2017

Posting Date for Initial Migration - Jan 01, 2017

We are facing this warning message issue from last two weeks.

Hi Eva,

Just wondering if you were able to figure out the root cause of this? I am also getting the same warning message and it seems like whenever I post a transaction with posting date that is prior to the 'posting date for migration", this warning message is raised. However, the system still allows me the post the transaction. So I am not sure if there is a negative impact on getting these warnings..

Dear Eva and Jiawen,

this is expected system behaviour:

If you post a business transaction on a posting date before the manually maintained 'Posting Date for Migration' the warning regarding the Financial Closing in Progress appears.

As the selected posting date of your transaction is, however, posted after the Initial Migration Posting date you are still allowed to proceed.

Example:
Initial Migration Posting date: 01.01.2018

Manually maintained Posting Date for Migration: 01.04.2018

Posting Date of your transaction: 20.03.2018.

As the selected date is before the manually maintained migration posting date the warning will be raised.

The posting can be executed as the date is after the Initinal Migration Posting date.

Hi Eva,

Check the status of the process control for the period:

Go to General Ledger -> Set of Books and Assigned Companies -> Open and Close Periods

Highlight the current period and check it's process control in the underneath table.

For the posting to go through, the period must be open for operational postings with a not blocked and valid process control.

Hi Alexandre,

It seems like the issue is related to the "posting date for migration" rather than the process control. In my case, the posting periods and the process control is not the issue as they are all valid.
