Project Purchase order

Hi,

I want to put a check on Project purchase order creation, so that Purchase order should not get created until & unless WBS achieve a status as REL & BUD

Looking for early response.

Hi,

If your purchase requisition / orders are assigned to WBS elements, obviously you have to maintain user status for WBS elements. Follow the steps described in the earlier posting, bu in the "object type", please tick WBS element instead of / in addition to Network header / activity.

If you need a more elaborate step-by -step procedure, please let me know.

I tried out with ur instructions but though the defining user status doesn't solved the purpose still I can proceed with PO creation even the WBS is not released.

Pl throw some more light on this.

If you have carried out the steps exactly you should be able to control it.

Status number:1

Status:PONL

Text:PO not Allowed

Check Initail Status Check box

Lowest: 1

Highest:1

Material PO-Forbidden

Have you checked the Initial Status Check box in the status profile for this status.

Did you set the indicator as Forbidden for the business transaction Material Purchase Order?

Did you assign the WBS status profile on the WBS?

You should see PONL appearing in the user status field.

Check the business processes tab Material Purchase should appear in RED.

This is to suppliment Sreenivas' posting:

If you are trying out the user status scenario in a newly created project, steps given by Sreenivas should ensure it. But ensure that the status profile is assigned to the project profile in customization. If status profile is not assigned to the proejct profile, or if you are trying out the scenario in an already existing project , you need to assign the user status manually. You can assign manual user status as below:

Select the WBS element. ->Edit->status->System/User Status-. Here you select the user profile, select the user status and save the project.

Now I got your question.

You assign it to "Network Header". In fact, you can assign it to both N/W header as well as "Activity", if the requirement is there.

Hi,

I want to control purchase order creation with System status of WBS, WBS against which I am going to make Purchase Order must not allow to create it if WBS is not released.

Then you need to choose WBS as the Object Type.

Give the below details

Status:POAL

Text:PO Allowed

Rest of Fileds leave blank

Released - Set

Material PO-Allowed

Next line

Status number:1

Status:PONL

Text:PO not Allowed

Check Initail Status Check box

Lowest: 1

Highest:1

Material PO-Forbidden.

Use this status on the WBS. Soon as you create the WBS, PONL will set which will not allow PO creation.

On Releasing the WBS POAL will set automatically and this will allow PO creation

I have done the exact same thing...but I got another problem after I realease the WBS element, It is still having PONL status along with POAL status, which is not allowing to raise the PO

Any help will be appreciated

User status for network - with initial user status which prohibits material purchase order.

When I create a new User status, we are supposed to select an object type, only the nI can go further. Which object type am i suppose to select for this?

Hi,

You can achieve this by way of user status for the network.

You create and assign user status in such a way that network is created with a user status which prohibits "material Purchase Order". Let the system status "REL / BUD" trigger a user status which permits placement of order.

As you way be well aware, transaction code for user status of network is OK02

If this meets your requirement, pl acknowledge the same.
