EP6 content objects sync/consolidation

Hi,

The client has EP6(sp13), now I am going to do some enhancement on the current environment. However, the DEV/QAS/PRD are not sync. The objects like to sync/consolidation are include iview, role, workset, page, rule, theme.

I think there are 2 ways to do the sync/consolidation:

1. export all content objects I need from PRD, import to DEV & QAS, this way overwrite all the objects in DEV/QAS that make them sync with PRD

2. do the EP system copy, from PRD->DEV/QAS. I have concern on this way as we need downtime and not sure what issue will have after the system copy in my case. Plus, I believe I need to adjust system objects etc. after the system copy.

any comment on my solutions above? or maybe there is a better way to sync the content objects in this EP landscape?
