Hi,

Refer Unit 2 of BW365 (Business Information Warehouse - Authorization). It gives a detailed description of R/3 and BI security along with the differences.

I cannot paste it as it runs into 7 pages !!

Hi,

In SAP R3 all transactions, programs etc. are defined, also their authorization objects and checks. In BI the reports that will be created are not know to SAP so you have to create your own authorization objects. This you do with Info objects that are made relevant to authorizations, your info providers and the activity needed. BI uses transaction RSECADMIN which that you can build your own authorization objects. I advise you also to use the profile generator and build authorizations in relation to your company organization.

Have fun
