Reset two-factor-authentication if the authenticator is uninstalled

Hi experts,

following scenario: A Jam user (provisioned with SCP IAS) is using the two-factor-authentification (2FA) with the SAP Authenticator on his mobile device. Then the user has unintentionally uninstall the SAP Authenticator App. How can I now - as administrator - deactivate or reset the two-factor authentification if the app on his device, that is generating the code to deactive the 2FA, is no longer exisiting? If I install the SAP Authenticator again on the mobile device it is requesting the set-up to a Jam account

Is the only possibility to reset the 2FA to delete the user in SCP IAS and add him again?

Thanks for help.

Best regards,

Deborah

I find a solution myself. If you go to that user in SCP IAS. In the thab "Authentication" you can switch the two-factor-authentication off as administrator (see Screenshot).

Hi Deborah,

Can you confirm if you can switch OFF 2FA user specific?

Suppose any SF LMS SITE user loses his phone or the phone crashes, I believe they will not be able to use 2FA on some other phone. if this occurs:

> Can we disable 2FA access ONLY for that user ? If yes, then re-enabling 2FA again for this user, will ask user to reset 2FA from the beginning in the new device

Hi Divyanshi,

yes, exactly. It is as you described it. Via this Status field in the user you are deactivating, namely resetting the 2FA. Afterwards, the user can set up the 2FA for his new phone by himself/herself.

If the application needs for certain user groups or IP-addresses a second factor, the user must setup the 2FA for the new device.

So this is no security issue....

Deborah

Hi Meghna,

in our case the users write a ticket in our internal ticketing system or just call me to reset the two factor authentication.
