Hi Gurus,

Is it possible to consider available stock in planning strategy 52? I want MRP run to consider available stock against a forecast and not to create new requirement.

I mean I have 100 pcs in stock and a forecast comes of 40 so it creates pland independent requirement. I want system not to generate any procument proposal when MRP runs. It should use available stock.

Thanks in advance.

Dear,

I am trying to understand your requirement,

If you feel that stock has to be consumed first against the PIR(forecast), then why not simple stg 40 cannotb be cosidered. In 52, we just plan the components early stage hence PIR is to be created and planned order has to be created weel in advance. That too when the sales order is received, it will knockoff the planned order created.

Hence if you keep the planned order open till you get the concreate sale order...it will also serve the same purpose.

Kindly let us know your business requirement...it is very intersting..for which industry youare working and the what is the business requirement...

Thanks for your interest and response.

We are in manufacturing appliances.

We want to forecast for many reasons like forecast accuracy and other measures in procutering plant in inter company environment. We don't want to start production before getting actual sales order for finshed as well as semi finished untill the s/o comes in manufacturing plant. But our raw material/s has got a long lead time so we want to start procurement based on forecast.

So here in my above example we have a stock of 200 of finished product in procuring plant. Forecast creates Independent requierement and being displayed bellow the line "Planning W/o assembly" in both procuring an manufacturing plant. This drives a procuring proposals for semi finished and it isa lso being displayed as finished goods. But for RAW materials this will creates procuring proposals and this will allow people to buy the product though it is not required.

The problem is Strategy 52 checks availability only consider PIR. Is there any way to consider stock for strategy 52? Or anyother way to stop this situation?

Thanks in advance

Create your own Planning Strategy similar to 52 and in the Requirement class which you have to assign to the Strategy

select the settings as per your requirement.

Thanks all Gurus for your invaluable time and suggestions.

Still I can't get the solution I want. I have following situation:

Date MRP element Req. Qty Available

25.01.2008 Stock 200 200

25.01.2008 -

> Planning without assembly 0 0

01.02.2008 PldOrd 0000108425/INDR 100 100 2001

01.02.2008 IndReq ZVSE 100- 0

03.03.2008 PldOrd 0000108426/INDR 100 100 2001

03.03.2008 IndReq ZVSE 100- 0

As we have got a stock I don't want system to create any requirement.

This happens with strategy 52 because we can't control anything below this line

"25.01.2008 -

>Planning without assembly"

please give me the solution.

You have not stated whether you are talking of the Final material or a component in the BOM.

If not the BOM part then do not go for 52.

40 or 10 are good for you.

Also check if you have put a tick on availability check in the strategy.

This shall give you the desired result.

Dear,

As per the scenario, planning 74 best suits you it is almost similar to strategy 52.It is also planning without final assembly, but mixed mrp indicator = 3 indic/collector = 2 or 1. Consumption parameters, you can use consumption mode, backward/ forward .Please try and come back.

Hi Rajaram,

As per the planning startegy 52 (planning with out final assembly & w/o MTO) if u run the MRPafter the entry of sale order for finished material, sytem will connsider the plant avilable stock to create procurement proposal. since there is no customer stock concept. please comeback

Hi Gurus,

Thanks for your replies.

Can any of you suggest me the right strategy that works exactly same as 52 and allow us to consider available stock and consume against PIR?

I will really appreciate you invaluable suggestion.

Thanks

Hi,

Its not possible .As Planning Strategy 52 is direct production. Whenever Production Order is created automatically Order for components also created. So,it doesn't consider the available stock.
