No SQL Anywhere Database Client for macOS

The installer / setup for the graphical database tools of SQL Anywhere won't start on macOS Sierra and the latest release High Sierra (10.3). This means that SQL Central and Interactive SQL are not available.

I tried all versions of https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-35857 yet the installer always exits with the error "Internal error. Setup will exit."

When will the tools be updated to support the latest version of macOS? Why doesn't SAP join the beta program of Apple and test its software against upcoming releases ahead of time?

We are unable to reproduce this issue in house. You may want to open a technical support issue to investigate this issue.

As a workaround, are you able to install using the command line "setup" in the install directory?

Can you look for a log file in the install location named install_{date}-{value}.log and post if located. Alternatively, please send to {first}.{last}@sap.com and I will have it reviewed.

Hi Chris, I have still the same issue with macOS Mojave. I tried the setup routine from the terminal, the folder under `/Applications` was created but you can see in the screenshot, no app. I already tried to disable SIP. There are no log files.

Any idea?

There is only a few apps i.e., SQL Central, DBISQL that are installed as most of the SQL Anywhere components are command line based. There are shell scripts to source the environment and then the command lines would be executed. There is a requirement for a specific Java environment to be installed (documented in the readme) but that should not affect the install - it would affect SQL Central and DBISQL which are java based tools.

Given there is not log, I cannot add much. I have never been able to reproduce this issue and I do not have access to a Mac OS environment currently. I would suggest you consider working with support on this topic.

Hi Matthias,

Version 17 seems to support Admin Tools by the next OS. Please confirm the details in PAM.

OS X 10.10 (YOSEMITE)
OS X 10.8 (MOUNTAIN LION)

Product Availability Matrix(PAM)

Therefore, you should investigate this problem in a support section as Chris says.
Sorry for a confusion.

Thanks,
Atsushi

Hi Atsushi, I'm not Marten but I already tried that, you can see the result in my screenshot below. For me it's only a folder client1700, not ga1700. Is there any difference? Thanks, Matthias.
