Is it the tagging or the searching that is not working, or an end user problem?

To date I have not yet found any new content tagged with SAP Access Control, so I just posted a question with that tag, to see if anyone would find it and respond. I am not particularly hopeful at this point, since my own "Browse the community" searching for content with that tag did not find the question. This does not bode well for the experience of the random end user.

I noticed several things:

1. The question is not tagged as type question in sap search:

2. The question appears in the tag page: https://answers.sap.com/questions/metadata/21818/sap-access-control-1.html and also here:

http://go.sap.com/community/tag.html?id=01200615320800000796&tag=type:question

3. The question is not displayed on your profile page:

I had a similar case last week, it took almost a day for some questions to appear in the profile. The explanation was that they are updating profiles now:

https://answers.sap.com/questions/33078/index.html

4. I am not 100% sure, but probably there is no dedicated topic page for SAP Access Control, or it is combined in some not so obvious page with other tags. If this is the case, you are not alone in this. Look at Craig S explaining the QM case here:

I think the main issue at the moment is the indexing. 😕

Also IMO it would help if all tags attached to a community page would be listed on that page (maybe under the moderator list). And the other way around: if you look at a tag, there should be an information if and to which community page it is assigned.

Shall I create an idea for that? I don't remember seeing something like that yet. I'll check the beta feedback list first, maybe this is already in planning, I don't know. But that is the kind of cross-referencing that is much needed at the moment, because people can look for content from so many different angles.

EDIT: Done. Idea created.

Regards,

Steffi.

PS: I also observed that the q&a tag lists (the ones starting with "answers...") work best at the moment when it comes to showing newly created content.

Steffi,

Not sure whether I am complete idiot or just unable to find the community page. If I go to http://go.sap.com/community/topic.html and search for "Analytics", "Access Control", "GRC", etc. I cannot find a "GRC" community. I rather use the tags to follow content. How do I get to the community page where you mentioned the "Moderator list". I was unable so far..

Thanks, Alessandro

Hello Alessandro,

sorry for the confusion, my comment was more general. As far as I know those tags have no community page (poor Gretchen). But it would help if you could see that on a tag (or a link to the community page, if the tag is attached to one).

Example for a CP: http://go.sap.com/community/topic/identity-management.html

A short info, then the list of moderators. And IMO a list of tags above or underneath that would help people find their way to content they would like to follow.

.

Maybe they should have called the IDM community page "Security" and add your tags to it, too. At the moment I only see this content attached:

  • SAP Identity Management
  • Security
  • SAP Single Sign-On

If this is put together on one CP, then IMO "Analytics", "Access Control" and "GRC" could be added, too. Or not? Isn't it in the same ballpark?

I really don't know what the base is for the decision of what to put where and which tags don't "need" CPs. 😕

.

Regards,

Steffi.

Steffi,

Some people do both security and GRC, but not all, and Access Control is not the only GRC solution (that used to be) discussed by members. I am afraid that without a community page, discussions of any GRC solution will go the way of the Zoot suit. But if including us with those other security-related solutions is the way to get us some visibility, I would be OK with that. It *is* in the ballpark 🙂

It's just an idea, if they want to keep the number of CP to a minimum. 🙂

Since you guys have several tags, I don't really see why you don't have got a page for that. Or maybe it's still coming and they started with the pages with the most content? I don't know. I wish I could help you with this. 😕
