How to write directly into a file?

Does any body know how to write a text directly into a file on ftp server? For example i need to write an error message "File cannot be found" in a n error file "ztest.err" on an ftp server.

    Any sort of info we sent to a file uses the same mechanism.

    open dataset <file> ....
    if sy-sburc eq 0.
       move 'File cannot be found' to l_text.
       transfer l_text to <file>
       close dataset <file>.
    else.
       write:/ 'Error Opening File'.
    endif.
