Hi,
I created some dcs in one of the tracks and built, activated the same.
but now i want to delete those dcs.is there any way i can do that.
i tried to follow sap note:864515 but when i was doing that it says unable to delete DC(i think because activities for those dcs are already activated so i am unable to delete dcs).
is there anyway i can delete these dcs
please help me in resolving this problem.points will be awarded for sure
Bala
Hi Bala,
If I want to get rid of a DC, I use the deletedc command of the DCTool as per
How To... Manage DC Operations with the DC Command Line Tool

Yes it is necesary. Here is an excerpt from Note 864515 - How To Delete a Development Component:
Go to the Design Time Repository perspective in the developer studio and create a new DTR client for the DTR server where that configuration stores source files. THIS IS IMPORTANT, THE DELETION WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE USING THE CLIENT OF A DEVELOPMENT CONFIGURATION.
I always have to use a custom DTR client to delete the files in DCs.
Hope this helps.

Hi Bala,
without the exact error message it's hard to come up with a suggestion. Already activated activities for the same DC is not a problem (the deletion itself is just another activity which you activate/release to transport the deletion).
I usually use a special DTR client (not the one created for the configuration, see e.g. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/17/73a43f4aa1330ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm ) to delete the _comp hierarchy. At least in older versions you had to sync all sources before you could delete them.

Marc
