In our BW 7.4 system, we tend to have something strange happening. Every once in a while the 0CostCenter and 0CostElmnt hierarchy tables 'H' and 'J' appear with data elements that are a string type with a length of 1333. This causes loads to fail and we have to fix it via an access key and opening the system.
Can anyone tell me how this is happening in a closed system where no one is using ABAP programs to manually activate the InfoObjects?
Many thanks!
For all that face the same problem e.g. after enhancing InfoObjects. There is a note that let you reset specific InfoObject hierarchy table.

Hi Kurt,
As the standard type and length is a STRING 1333 as of the 740, you'd better stay with it and deal with the loading issue rather than revert it to a CHAR.

Kurt - there are several SAP Notes on this topic - here is one: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1879618 - but you may want to search yourself at support.sap.com/notes
