Hi Vijay,

The concepts below apply primarily to HR Time management related to configuration of absence quota *(2006) deduction from an absence (2001).

Counting Rule (Table T556C) - this configuration defines "how" an absence deducts from an absnece quota, i.e. it defines which absence deducts from which absence quota and in what order, priority and what days etc. It also holds the deduction rule which basically has the above imformation. E.g. compassionate absence (CL) deducts quota first from absence quota 01 and then (if 01 is exhausted) from 02 and only when absence is taken on weekday. All this information is defined in the counting rule.

Rounding Rule (T556R) - this table basically defines how the amount of absence quota to be deducted is calculated. e.g. if the number of absence hours is between 0 and 0.5 then the number of hours deducted from corresponding absence quota (defined by counting rule) would be rounded off to 0.5 and if the amount is between 0.5 and 1 then it would be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Base Entitlement : When absence quota needs to be granted to an employee for a year, there is a certain amount to be granted which is called base entitlement. E.g. a manager gets 4 days of 01 absence quota for every year and a clerk gets 2 days of 01 absence quota for every year. Hence based on the employee grouping, the base entitlement is defined to indicate how much absence quota amount an employee is eligible for for every year of working.

Screen modifications: There is a table T588M which can be configured to allow you to hide/make obligatory/close for input etc. standard infotype screen fields for a grouping. Goto SM30, view V_T588M and enter the infotype and screen number (2000 for single screen and 3000 for list screen) You will be led to a screen where every screen field of the infotype would be shown along with radiobuttons for you to define whether the field should be closed for input/made obligatory/hidden etc. Make the selection, save and view the change tot he screen. Hence without making any code changes - you can modify the standard SAP infotype views.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aditya
