Purpose of EPS\out directory while applying support packs

Hi gurus,

I have two questions

1. What is the purpose of /usr/sap/trans/EPS/out directory?

2. What is the difference between OSS notes and SNOTE ?

Please reply ASAP. Points guranteed.

Hi Sudhakar,

1. As /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in is the path to drop the packages to be uploaded to sap /usr/sap/trans/EPS/out is the one where all the exports from the system will go.

2. An OSS note is SAP correction to a known problem, a OSS Note can contain information on how to fix a problem, as well as code corrections and other fixes. SNOTE is the transaction used to apply this corretions.

/usr/sap/trans/EPS/out is the one where all the exports from the system will go. you mean while transport ?

Hi Sudhakar,

certain objects and packages can be downloaded to /usr/sap/trans/EPS/out...

Transports don't go there.. Transport go the the /usr/sap/trans/<sid>/cofile and usr/sap/trans/<sid>/data.
