Hi Experts,

I am trying to find out if the 3.x Datasources are supported in BW on HANA - SAP Netweaver 7.5 (SP 05). Could you please let me know if this is possible. I have found several links and SAP Notes, but none of them seems to be clear about it.

Best Regards,

Regys

Hello,

The existing 3.x datasource are still supported in BW7.5. Only thing is that you cannot create a new flow in 3.x but you can still do changes in the existing 3.x flows.

Hi Gajesh,

thank you for the response. You mean this for BW/4HANA compatibility mode right? The information I found on this link...

Hi Regys

In the SAP Note 1940927 - 3.x DataSources/DataFlows in SAP NW BW 7.4 and 7.5 there is a clear statement:

In summary: Yes, 3.x DataSources and DataFlows still work in SAP NetWeaver BW Releases 7.4 and 7.5. The usage and creation of 3.x objects is still possible. However, it is highly recommended to migrate all DataFlows from 3.x to 7.x (DTP and Transformation concept)

Kind regards,

Andrey

Hi Andrey,

thank you for the response. This SAP Note I also saw it, however there was not mention a distinction between BW on HANA and BW/4HANA, even though they both work on SAP NetWeaver Releases 7.4 and 7.5. However, I found this info from some other links/presentations that the 3.x Datasources and Dataflows will still be supported by BW on HANA 7.5 but not anymore by BW/4HANA. Also at the compatibility mode of BW/4HANA they are still shown, however they cannot be changed or edited anymore.
