Scheduling a job to export the SAP Query result to a local file

I would like to schedule a jot to export the results of SAP Query to a local file (txt format located on one of the directories on network server).

I have created an Ad hoc query and defined File store in the variant. When I run this query manually, a popup screen asks data format (I select DAT) and if I want to replace or append, but this job successfully creates/updates the text file.

When I schedule this same job in background with the same variant, the job is successfully completed, but the query results goes to spool in Waiting Status and the file is not created.

Someone told me that I can modify the query codes in order to direct the query result from spool to local file. However, I do not know where to modify and how.

Would you please help me?

Thank you very much,

Kiyomi

    Hi,

If you need the file to be stored in Application Server in background refer OSS Note: 537735 & implement the same.

However the FileStore option is an option to download the list in foreground as it is presentation server functionality. (OSS: 598963)

    Hope this helps.
