To be specific R/3 dev to R/3 QA and then R/3 Prod transports first, replicate datasources in BW and then BW transports in Dev/QA/Prod.
Transport Sequence -
1) R/3 Data sources (All R/3 datasources + custom enhancement/modification requests)
2) BI Info objects (Before data flow option)
3) BI Info providers (Before data flow option)
4) Queries/Workbooks/Templates (After data flow option)
Prerequisites -
Before transporting to another BI system:-
1) BI - Activity
Conversion of Source System names after transports
to be done in the BI target system (QA/PRD)
RSA1Tools Conversion of Source System names after transports
2) BI - Activity
Assign a source system ID to logical system
to be done in the BI target system (QA/PRD)
RSA1Tools Assign a source system ID to logical system
3) R/3 - Activity
Transport Data Sources from R/3
R/3 datasources + custom enhancement/modification requests
4) R/3 & BI Activity
Transfer Application Component Hierarchy via Trans Code SBIW
5) BI - Activity
Replicate Data Sources
(Must be done after activating source system / Data Sources but before any BI
Transports.RSA1Source systemQA/PRDReplicate datasources
6) BI - Activity
Transport or Re-Set Permitted Characters (RSKC)
7) BI - Activity
Transfer Global settings and Exchange Rates
RSA1 Source Systems QA/PRD right mouse click Transfer Global Settings and Exchange rates
Tips Sanity Check /House Keeping -
1) are all Info Packages/DTP/Process Chains correct (selection criteria & automatic update/activation
Settings removed) for Infoproviders,ODS master data etc??
2) All prior transports should be unlocked, released, or deleted. Should be clean.
All objects should be in correct development class and corresponding transport
Layer.
All objects collected for the first time, are placed in $tmp > a request is then created to move from local change request to transportable development class > then the transport is created.
3) Web Queries are transportable automatically with workbooks.
4) When transporting, keep in mind any dependencies that exist.
5) A request is what gets imported (higher number on the tree)
6) A task is below the request (lower number on the tree)
Hope it Helps
