I think you better to go forValidation & Substitutions.

By using teh substitution rule , even if you give teh other cost center , system will assign teh respective cost center.

by writing the substitution rule you can achive it.

Hi,

The SAP system uses the cost center assignment in the asset master record to determine the cost center affected when the following types of asset posting are made for gathering data against :1. Fixed asset depreciation and 2.Gain/loss from asset sales.

If your purpose of assaigning default cost center for a asset class is for meeting the above purpose then the following will solve your isssue:

Create a seperate Gl A/c for 1) Depn account and 2) Gain/loss on asset a/c for each Asset Class separetely and convert them into cost elements and assaign default cost center against that cost elements as per your requirements. You have to use the above Gl accounts for integration in t.code AO90.

Though it is a round about solution, I hope it will address your concerns.

Hi Raghonadh,

I check the AO90 and it does contain all sort of GL in both Category (1. Acquisiotion/retirement and 2. Depreciateion.). I have check all the G/L listen in above 2 categorys. Either the G/L doesn't has the cost element or the cost element doesn't has the cost center.

It does give me a hint where to look at.

1. I have use KA03 and KA23 to check the default cost center assign to the cost element. (which is empty)

2. I have use FS00 to check the G/L account too.

The reson is the assets class do have the ability to assign the default cost center. However, I just have to figure it out how since I need to change the default cost center.

Many thanks, the AO90 do give me a big hints here.
