Determine modifiable fields of Notification depending on Notification Type.

Hi Experts,

I want to run a BDC for Transaction IW51 for creating Service Notification. For this I need to determine whether is field is disabled for a Notification Type (QMEL-QMART). The settings are done in transaction OQM1 (Influencing button --> Double click on Notification Type ---> Enter Notification Type). Please help me find table / FM so that I can dyamically determine these settings.

    Hello,

think you're looking for tables TFAW, TFAWC, TFAWF, TFAWT. For IW21 we had to select entries for PROG = 'SAPLIQS0'. Think it's the same for IW51.

You should use the where-used function for this tables in the IW51, to find out, how SAP uses this tables.

If you'll find a function module (I haven't found one in release 4.6B), please post it here (we're uprading to ECC 6.0 this year). Perhaps we can use it also.

By the way - why don't you use the BAPI for creating a service notification? (BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE (new to 620), BAPI_SERVNOT_CREATE)

    Best regards

    Stephan

      Hello Stephan,

Do you know now the "SAP rule" to manage customer field in IW51?

What is the best way to add entries in tables : TFAW, TFAWC, TFAWF, TFAWT.

And what is the best way to read this entries on the specific dynpro?

      Regards

      Mathieu

the foll exception ll be raised

    Exception INVALID_TRANSACTION

Transaction IW51 not allowed for notification type 'ur noti type'

      Hello Mitrajit,

fm FIELD_SELECTION_INFLUENCE seems to deliver the "status" of the field, but not influenced by e.g. the notification type.

You can search the string "Feldauswahl" (the german translation of field selection), in the report source of the IW51 (as most of the comments in the SAP sources are in german). I don't think, that there's a fm, where you get the field selection influenced by the notification type. I think you have to determine the settings by your own from the database tables mentioned above.

By the way - if you've customized different screen layouts for your notification types, you have to handle this also in a totally flexible batch input.

      Best regards

      Stephan
