EU member receives goods from outside EU: is this intrastat relevant?

Hi,

1) My client has his company in Germany. The company receives goods from example JP or China. Is this Intrastat relevant?

2) Or is it only relevant inter EU?

3) Does country of origin reflects intrastat?
