Hi, How does one go about keeping the Portal Landscape in synch? I have quite a few Roles and Worksets that I deleted in my development environment that still exist in my QA and PRD.. What is the best practice to keep these in synch?

Thanks, Ken Murray

Unfortunately... it is a manual deletion. So what you can do is class it as manual config and record it in documentation etc.

Thanks for the info. You have to be kidding me!? Version 7.x of Portal requires manual synchronization. In this day and age there has to be some tool or practice other than manually deleting objects in my QA and PRD Boxes?

I know - it's mad. It would be great if we could have the same as ABAP transports and transport deletions. At least with CTS+ it is gettign towards a proper transport system.... so fingers crossed!

To me it's unbelievable, embarrasing for SAP for not even having the basic tools required to do this. This is supposed to be Enterprise Level. Another similar situation is that they don't even have a WYSIWG tool for their web development. WYSIWG has been around 10 years. Their development tools have always, always, been of poor quality in my mind. I just want the basic tools to do the job, quality tools, and tools that work without crashing. Let's get past that "Just good enough" syndrome. Enough ranting...

Thanks...

I hope you feel better for the rant. I know how you feel though - I've been doing EP since release 5 (which was really release 1) and whilst a lot of things have improved immensely, thing as like transports and monitoring (without Solution manager) haven't really moved on much.

When I used to teach the EP Academy, it was embarassing at times, particularly when you're used to standard ABAP with CTS and all of the tools in CCMS.
