Why should we delete people's address?

I just reported a 'please send material to my address ...@yahoo.com'.

However my evil twin was looking over my shoulder and tried to stop me. He said to let the poor sod get all the spam he deserves as punishment.

I thought about this and grudgingly agreed, why do we delete email addresses? It's their choice to make their details public. We can all do this via our business cards anyway, so what's the point?

It just unnecessarily increases moderators' workload, so I say let's not bother. If anything the request for information should be deleted, just deleting the email address is pointless.
