Hi all,

Currently we are upgrading from EP 5.0 to EP 7.0 on 4.6c and later when we will upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 what kind of impact EP7.0 will have. This portal currently running on 4.6C have few NORMAL remote FM.

Regards.

As Brad says - technically no problem with the upgrade although since you are on EP5.0 you cannot go direct to EP7.0 - that upgrade path does not exist.

You must ensure your EP5.0 is at least SP6 then upgrade to NW04 SR1 (effectively EP6.0 SP9) then you should additionally be able to go EP7.0

You shouldnt (in theory) have any content problems although its impossible to say for sure. Some business package content may have to be updated (for your post EP6.0 platform). Also bear in mind that if you are upgrading an EP5.0 cluster, the architecture from EP6.0 on WebAS 6.40 is markedly different to before. This may add additional difficulties.

You may want to consider a content migration option and a fresh install as an alternative - depends on the complexity of your environment.

Hi Mary,

we went from EP6 to EP7 last year.

All old iViews from portal should work ok with R/3 4.6C, we did not have any problem.

However, it's when you upgrade the backend to ERP 2005 that you need to change a few things.

You will have to configure the new integrated ITS and deploy new business packages.

Old iViews using the standalone ITS won't work anymore.
