WBS Element System Status to REL-Release

Hi,

I am looking for a way to set the System Status to REL instead of CRTD- created as soon as the WBS element is created.

Can any one please provide their valuable suggestion.

Hi Satish,

The only option here would be release the project

definition. Once the project definition is released, all WBS elements created for that definition will be automatically released.

As far as I know, one cannot overcome any system status.

Thanks for the quick response.

Client wants the Status of all the WBS elements to default the status as REL as soon as it is created. As users are facing the problem to post cost to WBS when it is in CRTD status and they can not change the status of the WBS due to access issue.

Please let me know if there is a way to auto release all WBS created.

I think there's no standard way to automatically release the created WBS.

Use and LSMW program or try BAPI -BAPI_BUS2054_SET_STATUS instead

Sorry to say that I am still unclear with the requirement.

When you say that users want to post cost to the WBS element, is it a direct Cost entry against the WBS or is it through GI/Service Enrtry and acceptance?

If it is through GI/Service Enrtry and acceptance, then no costs can be posted without the release of the WBS.

I have checked from my side thoruoghly. Bypassing of CRTD system status is not possible. But get it confirmed from other experts also.

Hi Pratap,

As you said we can not post cost through GL when the status is CRTD. That is the reason client wants it to default to REL status.

So as soon as it WBS is created it shld have release status instead of CRTD.
