Issues on creating product

When I select a material type category to create a product in CRM IDES (selected category id and presses the "continue" button), it occurs a error "A product with the ID already exists". I thought it is caused by number range, so I created a new category and assigned a new number range to this category, then try to create a product with this category, the same error occured. Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot!
