Crystal 2013 subreport prompts for database credentials when running in BI 4.1 SP6

Hi folks, I have a Crystal 2013 report with an On Demand sub report. When report runs in BI and user selects the on demand sub report, they're prompted to enter the back end database credentials (which happen to be the same as the main report).

This prompting doesn't occur within Crystal Reports design tool, but only when the report runs in BI. I didn't see any options to pass the database credentials to the sub report during design. Is there a property or a flag I can set in BI so that the user is not prompted for the credentials?

Thanks in advance.

Ralph

Did you passed on the database credentials in the database configuration via CMC? Also check the options at the bottom and select the option "Use the same database credential as the report is run".

The other that can cause this issue is when you are using a dynamic parameter in the subreport. If yes, then you need to pass the database credentials to the "Data Connection" via Business View Manager. Check the option of "Never Prompt" when you provide the password and save the data connection.

Hi Ralph,

Logon on CMC > Right-click the report > Database Configuration.

Look for a drop-down called 'Data Sources' > Select each source and update the DB user and Pass and check the 'Use Same database configuration as when report is run'.

Can you try updating the Datasource of Main and Subreport in Crystal designer itself and try again?
