Sensor Data in IoT, Predictive Service and On-Premise ERP System

Hello Friends,

I am working on a scenario where I am pushing the sensor data into IoT tables and from there it will be branched in 2 different ways. Let me please explain.

Branch_1 - Every entry needs to go into predictive service. And I understand for that the IoT table must be available in the schema in predictive service as per below blog by Frank.

https://blogs.sap.com/2017/02/25/analyse-your-raspberry-pi-i2c-sensor-data-with-the-hana-cloud-platform-predictive-services-via-the-hana-cloud-platform-iot-services/

Branch_2 - My IoT data will be fetched periodically (every 5 mins) by HCI and if there's something wrong HCI will be immediately process the record to create a maintenance order in ERP on prem.

Now my query here is as below.

Is IoT table being in predictive schema the only way? Can't it pick the entries from existing table and may be store them in its schema? What should be the best way to achieve this scenario. Because I would need to regularly delete the old entries from the IoT table which will have impact in analytics presented by the Predictive APIs.

Please suggest the best possible approach for this.
