Hi All,
I am working on SAP BI 7.0 system , I have created have a DSO with setting "Updating Data from DataStore Objects Automatically" turned ON and I have another InfoCube connected to above DSO thorough Transformation and DTP.When I activate data on DSO , data is not updating to connected InfoCube.
Is DSO setting "Updating Data from DataStore Objects Automatically" is obsolete in SAP BI 7.0 ?. If so why was this done?
Thanks for ur help..

Yes, it is obsolete because Datamart concept has become obsolete atleast with in a single BI system.
Some Explanation
"Updating Data from DataStore Objects Automatically" would schedule the infopackage on 8datasource - myself datamart concept and infopackage would do the laoding from 8DSO to Cube which would make DTP useless.
DTP's are quite smarter in loading and only DTP can load a target from an other considering a transformation is already created btn.
More flexibilty in loading same deltas to multiple targets...
Note : It applies if you are in the newer version and using Transformations and DTP's with datasources migrated.
Advantages of DTP - > /thread/623559 [original link is broken]

Hi,
"Updating Data from DataStore Objects Automatically" function in not obsolete in SAP BI 7.0. I dont know why its not updating the new request in the cube from the ODS. This might be because u have not activated the ODS after changing the setting. even if u have activated the setting, just remove the setting and check the check box again and activate it once again. There might be some mistake from our ( user ) side during making the setting.
Assign Points if it helps u.........
Thanks,
