assignment of cost centre

Hi

1.We have 4 machine each one has been defined as cost cenres individually.There is one G/L defined for consumption of raw material.Now the management wants the details of total raw material consumption machine wise& at the same time functional people wants the cost centre should be defaulted while passing the entry.now please suggest how to go about this issue.

2.Can multiple cost centre be assigned to one fund centre

as u have defined each machine as cost center ,u can get details of total raw material consumption machine wise ,by cost center report.

As Single gl is used u can not default it. u need to enter the cost center whenever a machine is used.

Hi,

1. You can work with Substitutions in case you can define the rules for defaulting the cost centre.

2. Fund centre and Cost centre relationship has 1:n relationship.

Thank you for giving me valuable tips.But i have adoubt on cost centre & fund centre relation.as one consultant says it has 1:1 relation & you say different.Which one is true will you pl.justify.Pl. donot take it otherwise.Then for substitution rules i have no knowledge.will you pl help me in doing so.

Hello,

you have to define multiple (in your case 4) cost element accounts.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to assign several cost centers to one fund.

Thanks for the reply.Now in our case each cost centre is termed as one fund centre.Now canwe assign tow cost centre to one fund centre

Hi,

still the logic applies that one cost center can only be assigned to one fund center. So it is not possible to assign 2 cost centers to one fund center.
