Hello,

using swpm for system copy oracle. Getting this error:

Execution of the command "/bin/csh -c "source /home/s11adm/.cshrc; env"" finished with status TST_ERROR.

swpm started with root and webgui login with root.

How can I fix this issue ?

Thanks a lot

Using Suse 11SP4, EHP8, Oracle 12

Hello Dieter,

please share the sapinst_dev.log.
At the moment I can only speculate but you may try this approach:
  • Logon with 'root' into in a new session on the C shell.
  • Execute the following commands:
    source <homedirectory_sidadm>/.sapenv_<hostname>.csh
    source <homedirectory_sidadm>/.dbenv_<hostname>.csh
  • Execute these commands to check whether the connection is working:
    R3load -testconnect
    R3trans -x
  • If the commands are working fine, start sapinst from this session and continue.

Thanks a lot, I was changing to a old SWPM without Web GUI - hope it works fine.

I execute your recommendations: source ....

repeat the swpm step:

sapinst_dev.log

You can now:

Choose Retry
to repeat the current step.

Choose Log Files
to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue later.

Log files are written to /tmp/sapinst_instdir/BS2016/ERP608/ORA/COPY/SYSTEM/STD/AS-ABAP/.

There is no sap installed. I am in a systemcopy for a blank system.

Thanks a lot

In this case, the sapinst_dev.log is required. Please upload.

Please first switch to the latest SWPM.
Also, the process was ended by signal 6. Can you please check the OS
logs for any entry, dump or so?

Hello,

use the SWPM Version: SWPM10SP21_7-20009701

Getting tha same error message and on /var/log/messages

I have started the sapinst in csh shell and under root login.

I found in the /etc/securetty restrictions, get more login variants

tty2
tty3
tty4
tty5
tty6
pts/0
pts/1
pts/2

pts/6
vc/1
vc/2
vc/3
vc/4
vc/5
vc/6
vc/7
vc/8
vc/9
vc/10

=> get the same pam_securetty error

Ok now it works - before I start swpm in ssh windows. Now I started in a vncserver session, but the entries in the securetty file was nessesary.

Sounds like this is sorted out? Very specific case, I have to say.
