Is there a Business Object for Tax Codes & How are records locked/unlocked

Hi All,

I have few question and would love to have answers for them...

1) Delete/Update Tax code & Jurisdiction: We are creating Sales tax code, Sales tax jurisdiction programmatically; also we need to update/delete(mainly update) the same programmatically. Can we do this using Tax Code Business Object (is there a business Object for these entities) instead of executing DELETE or UPDATE SQL query, as it is against SAP B1 Standards?

2) Change effective rate in Sales Tax code: We would like to understand how effective rate is maintained. Actually we tried to just delete the Jurisdiction records and recreate it with new rates but then the effective rate in Tax Code remains the old one. So currently we are updating this field using SQL command, but since this not a right way to do we would like to know how it works and if there is any other way to update this field.

3) Lock/Unlock record: We would like to understand how SAP B1 handles Locking of records in Multi User environment (is it something left for SQL to handle) we wish to lock above records before editing. Will Start / End Transaction take care of this scenario?

Cheers,

Nits
