How to do Cross Plant Planning in Flexible Planning using Product Groups

Hi Experts,

We are implementing Flexible Planning - Level by Level Planning using Product Groups. Each product group is defined with reference to a plant.

Our requirement is such that when we create our sales plan in flexible planning, we want the capability to plan our product group and material first across all plants and then plan production based on plants in a subsequent step

We have created a self defined info structure which has product group/material and plant as the last 2 levels in the characteristics hierarchy.

SAP documentation says it is possible to do that but it is not clear to us how exactly it is implemented in the system. Here is the documentation for that

Cross-Plant Planning

You can assign materials or product groups from different plants to the same owner product group. This allows you to plan both product groups and materials across different plants and even company codes. Thus, you can create an initial plan to cover all plants, and then define plant-specific production quotas in a subsequent step.

Your help is appreciated and points will be rewarded

Thanks
